How Great Thou Art! How aptly this song describes our awesome God. I am at a lost on how to begin my testimony just because He has been "too marvelous for words, too wonderful for comprehension" as the chorus of the song goes. I would like to single out one thing in my life that testifies of the great love of our God for each and every one of us.

I grew up in the 50's in a newly formed satellite township called Petaling Jaya which was actually a plan by the British government during the 1950's to break up and relocate residents of the Chinese new villages in KL to such satellites township where gangsterism and communist activities could be better controlled. It was against such a backdrop that I grew up as the pioneers of PJ amidst rampant secret society luring and poverty - a potent mix. I remember roaming the streets looking for things to steal after school, getting involved in fights and skipping classes and most haunting of all I remember that when I was about 13 or 14 years old I used to climb up to our primary school roof in PJ old town with another friend in the night and shoot passersby with our catapults. I don't know how many people we have injured and hurt by our despicable act - it was a senseless act of stupidity in which no excuses can be offered.
"And God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. I thank God that in the midst of all these senselessness and defiance of all God's law He chose to reach out His hand to lift me out of death and destruction. All I can say now after giving my life to Jesus for 35 years is - How Great Thou Art for loving and saving a wretch like me.
